Role 

The BI Analyst will work collaboratively within the AM team and closely with cross-functional team members in efforts to build a robust, best-in-class reporting environment and BI (Business Intelligence) solutions to enable data-driven decision-making & drive meaningful internal and client outcomes. This position will mine, analyze and interpret large complex datasets, identify trends, and anomalies that may require further investigation relative to process gaps and redundancies and identify opportunities to innovate, including proposing operational improvements, socializing best practices and creating efficiencies using data visualization for a variety of audiences. These responsibilities and deliverables should lead to business insights and enhance operational and customer analytics, ultimately driving bottom line performance.

This role requires an analytical and strategic thinker who can leverage strong technical know-how and a big picture mindset.  The ideal candidate for this role will be a problem solver with strong financial literacy, technical and communication skills, and experience in the institutional residential real estate industry (particularly Multi-Family (MF) or Single-Family Rentals (SFR) experience is a plus). This candidate is comfortable in an environment with evolving priorities.

Responsibilities:

    • Build business intelligence dashboards (Sigma, Tableau and others) to highlight KPI’s and other metrics utilizing data warehouse
    • Build & maintain data visualizations and tools that empower decision-making for a variety of audiences and stakeholdersBuild descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics with data driven actionable insights to meet organizational needs including their proprietary revenue management and budgeting and forecasting platform
    • Identify the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability
    • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the potential impact of various factors on investment performance and portfolio optimization
    • Reconcile data between various systems, varied structured and unstructured datasets.  Find opportunities to innovate, and drive improvements
    • Analyzing existing business processes and recommend best practices or modifications to implementations and prioritization
    • Facilitate Knowledge-sharing and training with team to foster a culture of discovery, analytical discourse and empowerment.
    • Assist in the adoption of established data dictionary and data governance, including data accuracy and integrity, data definitions, and methodologies

Requirements:

    • BS or MS statistics, computer science, analytics, economics, engineering, operations research, and computational field
    • 3+ years of industry experience, real estate experience a plus
    • Understanding of Accounting and Finance is a plus
    • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail
    • Strong expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, and business intelligence tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, or similar platforms
    • Structured approach to problem solving: ability to take a broad challenge and break it down into solvable components, accounting for confounding variables and statistical challenges
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prototype rapidly, and meet deadlines
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
